First OpenSER Summit took place in Berlin, on the 8th November, 2006. The summit was hosted inside the VoN Europe Exhibition. All participants registered via OpenSER before Wednesday, November 1, 15:00 UTC, got full VoN conference pass.

With an increasingly growing force of IP communication, voice and beyond, the market demands here competitive solutions, pushing Open Source to play an important role, evolving from a simple to a mandatory one.

OpenSER is one of the leading projects for an open source SIP server. A large set of features and functionalities, backed up by a constant development, push OpenSER beyond voice and video. Supported by a large world wide community, the project is looking to tighten the relations between its members and reveal its features for business opportunities.

OpenSER Summit targets an open debate about OpenSER's past and future -- where it stands and where it move, both from business and development perspective.

What makes this project so interesting? It is open source, it is in production of well establish VoIP providers, it scales from residential services to carrier grade requirements. Shortly, it is flexible, robust, active and open.
