Adrian Georgescu, Founder and CEO, AG Projects

Adrian Georgescu Adrian Georgescu is founder of AG Projects where he focuses on implementing systems for the convergence of the Internet and Telecom. He is an active member of the Open Source community and member of ENUM special task force committee that has been established by European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). Prior starting of his own enterprise, Mr. Georgescu had accumulated experience in Telecom with Tomrad Communications, Esprit Telecom, Global Tele Systems (GTS) and Internet with Ebone and KPNQwest. Adrian's expertise spans DNS and ENUM, signaling protocols, provisioning systems, CDR mediation solutions and implementation of disaster recovery plans for large infrastructures. He received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Faculty of Electrotechnics at the Polytechnics University of Bucharest.

 

Andreas Granig, Inode/UPC Austria

Andreas GranigAndreas Granig is Core Developer at Inode/UPC Austria and holds responsibility for the design and development of the SIP-based VoIP system. Prior to joining Inode, Andreas worked as System Analyst at BearingPoint/Infonova, developing H.323-based VoIP protocol stacks and applications back in 2000. His focus is on high availability of VoIP systems. Andreas holds a degree in IT/IT-Marketing from University of Applied Sciences in Graz, Austria, and is currently located in Vienna.

 

Benjamin Wolf, Project Director, BASIS Audionet

BASIS AudioNet develops, integrates, hosts and supports solutions and services in the Information and Telecommunication Technology industry, based on highly developed systems for fixed line, mobile and IP networks.

 

Bogdan-Andrei Iancu, CEO Voice System, Co-Founder OpenSER Project

Bogdan-Andrei Iancu Bogdan-Andrei Iancu is a co-founder of Voice System SRL, a "know-how" VoIP company. Born in 1978 in Romania, he receives in 2001 the Master Degree in Computer Science at University "Politehnica" Bucharest . For the next 4 years, his research work at Fraunhofer Fokus Research Institute for Open Communication, Berlin is sustained by hands-on experience in VoIP/SIP area as co-founder and main developer of the Open Source project "SIP Express Router". In 2004, Mr Iancu starts his own enterprise dedicated to designing, implementing and deploying VoIP platforms. Focusing on advanced service and dynamic routing together with scalability and security, in 2005 he co-founds the OpenSER public project as the next step in VoIP enhancement.

 

Cesc Santasusana, System Engineer, Thales Communications

Cesc Santasusana Cesc Santasusana is a System Engineer for Thales Communications in the Netherlands, a manufacturer of all sorts of communication equipment for military and civil applications. Current areas of interest are ssecurity, distributed systems and content based routing. An enthusiast
of open source, he got involved with OpenSER since its origins. He is also a core member of the MiniSIP team, a SIP phone with focus on security.

 

Daniel-Constantin Mierla, CTO Voice System, Co-Founder OpenSER Project

Daniel-Constantin Mierla Daniel-Constantin Mierla is co-founder and CTO of Voice-System SRL. In June 2005, he co-founded OpenSER.org, a scalable and flexible open source SIP server, being also core developer of SIP Express Router (SER) from its early beginning in 2002. He has a Master degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Polytechnics University of Bucharest. His experience was accumulated working as consultant for Orange Romania, branch of French Orange mobile operator, and researcher in network communications at FOKUS Fraunhofer Institute, Berlin, Germany.

 

Dean Elwood, co-founder, VoIP User

Dean Elwood Dean Elwood started experimenting with VoIP in 2000 as a means of networking two way radio. In 2003 he co-founded VoIP User, a community site offering a self-funded SIP network and PSTN gateway. Today VoIP User is a reference point for the industry and consumer alike, acting as an environment for the exchange of ideas and technology. He is an active writer on the subject and is a named inventor on several VoIP patents.

 

Elena-Ramona Modroiu, Voice System, Co-Founder OpenSER Project

Elena-Ramona Modroiu Elena-Ramona Modroiu joined SER (SIP Express Ruter) in the spring of 2003, just after several months since the project was publicly released. She became one of the most active contributors, with key modules like avpops, diameter support, pdt, speeddial, uac, xlog. Mrs. Modroiu has a Master degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania, completing the studies at Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, Fraunhofer FOKUS Institute, Berlin, Germany and SIEMENS Networks, Munich, Germany. In summer 2005, she founded together with other two SER core developers the OpenSER project.

 

Elias Baixas, Innovation Engineer, Voztelecom

Achieved a Bachelor Degree in Telematics (Polytechnics University of Catalonia, UPC) and started his research career in VoIP implementing a sms-MESSAGE SIP gateway based on VOCAL. In 2006 achieved a MSc in Telecommunications Engineering in EPSC (UPC), with a final career thesis on high-performance SIP application servers. Over the past 5 years, he has taken part in research groups (specially BAMPLA) at Polytechnics University of Catalonia (UPC) always on Voice over IP projects. He is currently working at VozTelecom as Innovation Engineer, responsible for the development of WeSIP Application Server and VozTelecom's VoIP Hosted Applications.

 

Gines Gomez, co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer, Voztelecom

Gines Gomez Holds a Degree in Telecommunications and Master in Information Technology Management. Over the past ten years, he has held several positions in companies in the Internet and Telecommunications industry, first as technology manager for network products in Konica Business Machines GmbH, and after at Tiscali/World Online as Information Systems Manager. Currently at VozTelecom is responsible for the development of WeSIP Application Server and VozTelecom's VoIP Hosted Applications. He is directly involved too in the SIP Servlet standardization comitee at the Java Communication Process (JCP) currently working on the next version of the specification.

 

James Body, Director - Networks, Truphone

James Body James Body is Director - Networks at Truphone, a UK based converged operator who provide mobile services utilizing dual mode GSM/WiFi handsets. James is responsible for all of the infrastructure between the handset SIP interface and the rest of the world. Following graduation from Queen Mary College, University of London and 20 years as a Regular Officer in the Royal Corps of Signals (UK Army), James 'retired' to focus on implementing VoIP based 'New Telephony' systems. He was responsible for SIPCall, the first UK public SIP<>PSTN system and was co-founder of Gossiptel. A founder member of the UK Internet Telephony Providers Association (ITSPA), he has been closely involved with the implementation and regulation of new internet based telephony systems for past five years. He is a fervent believer in the power of disruptive communications technology and the role of open source components in the shaping of future telecommunications architectures.

 

James Tagg, Managing Director, Truphone

James Tagg James Tagg is a serial entrepreneur and technologist with extensive business experience in the US, Europe and Asia. James holds patents in several areas of technology including touchscreens and communications. He also serves as a mentor to new companies as a member of the Cambridge University Entrepreneurship Centre. He has founded several companies, the most recent being Software Cellular Network (SCN) where he was CEO and technology visionary. His work on touchsceens at his start-up, Moonstone Technologies led to its acquisition by US based Microtouch Systems, the world's premier maker of touchscreens. At Microtouch he held a variety of roles, including Director of Engineering. He also served as Director for Technology Innovation at Zefer, a strategy-led technology services company in the US. He holds a Degree in Physics and Computer Science from Manchester University and is a graduate of the ACPMM at Cambridge University.

 

Jesus Rodriguez, CTO, Voztelecom

Jesus Rodriguez Jesus Rodriguez, VozTelecom CTO and co-founder, holds a Master in information Technology Management, CISCO CCNP and CCNA. Since the beginning of Internet in Spain he has taken part in countless design projects and the implementation of data networks and systems management into relevant companies in the sector, such as Abaforum, Nexus Comunicaciones, World Online and Tiscali. Being Network and Systems Engineering Manager for three years in Tiscali, before VozTelecom, he lead the design and implementation of Tiscali's national multi-service network in Spain. Currently is directly involved into the design and operationals of VozTelecom's SIP based service delivery platform vozIP.com, having OpenSER a key element on it.

 

Joachim Fabini, IBC, Vienna University of Technology

Joachim Fabini

Joachim Fabini received his diploma degree in Computer Sciences from the Vienna University of Technology, Austria in 1997. After five years at Ericsson Austria's R&D department with activity focus on concept and implementation of a VoIP-enabled PABX he joined the Institute of Broadband Communications at the Vienna University of Technology in 2003 and is currently working on his Ph.D thesis on Performance Evaluation of the IP Multimedia Subsystem.

 

Klaus Darilion, Enum.at

Klaus Darilion Klaus Darilion works as system engineer for enum.at in the field of ENUM and SIP. He knows OpenSER and SER projects from the beginning, being a major supporter and an active member on the mailing lists. He and his company contributed several SIP related stuff like TLS extensions, infrastructure ENUM lookup and a domainpolicy module for openser and the SIPTAPI.

 

Olle E Johansson, CEO, Edvina AB

Olle E. Johansson Olle E Johansson is an active Asterisk developer and an active member of the Asterisk community. He has written many documentation pages, fixed many bugs in the SIP support of Asterisk and added quite a lot of new functions to Asterisk during the years. Olle is a member of the Asterisk Advisory Council and works on a daily basis with Asterisk in service provider networks. Olle also has a position as Asterisk evangelist and senior technical adviser with Voop, a European VoIP service provider.

 

Philippe Sultan, Network Architect, INRIA

Philippe Sultan Philippe Sultan is specialized in SIP based VoIP architectures as well as network management and security. It has been in charge of deploying and maintaining VoIP - presence - IM services for INRIA, the French research institute network, based on open source tools. It has strong experience in the usage of open source VoIP softwares such as OpenSER, SER or Asterisk. He is an active contributor to Asterisk and FreeRADIUS and has developed an extensive knowledge in IPSec VPN remote access solutions, by identifying and correcting security vulnerabilities using open source tools.

 

Robert Schischka, CEO, Enum.at

Robert Schischka Robert Schischka studied business economics at the University of Economics in Vienna, specializing in commercial information technology and controlling. His professional focus is within the topics of IT strategy, architecture, infrastructure and IT security. He gained his profound experience as a security expert during his occupation in a subsidiary company of the Austrian National Bank and as a consultant with the internationally active IT-consulting company CSC. Along with Richard Wein, he has been the CEO of nic.at since September 2003, where he is responsible for the technical operation.

 

Xavier Casajoana, CEO, Voztelecom

Xavier Casajoana Xavier Casajoana was born in Spain in 1968, graduated in Computer Science Engineering and Master in Business and Technology, has a degree in Business Administration and Information Systems. After more than 10 years managing IT Departments on public and private held firms, he addressed his career to the Internet and Telecom industry in 1999, starting as CTO for World Online Spain, and later driving Tiscali Spain as Country Manager-CEO till Dec 2002. In February 2003, he founded VozTelecom, an innovative VoIP start-up (achieving venture capital funds), and today leads European and Latin America white-label IP Telephony ASP offer for ISPs, ITSP or any broadband providers, based on its Web-SIP Application Services Platform.
